Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ADHD Money Guard ("we", "us") provides a web-based budgeting and money organization tool, and publishes guides about managing money with ADHD, at adhdmoneyguard.com. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: your email address, name (optional) and, if you use Google sign-in, your Google profile name and photo URL.
  • Workspace data you enter: balances, income, bills, transactions, goals, debts, notes and preferences you type into the app.
  • Plan information: your subscription plan, any access code you redeem, and early-access requests you make.
  • Technical data: basic logs and anonymous performance metrics from our hosting and security providers, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used to keep the service secure and working.

We do not ask for or store bank logins, card numbers or government IDs, and we never connect to your bank.

3. How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
  • To store and sync your workspace across your devices.
  • To send essential emails such as verification, password reset and important service notices.
  • To respond to support, feedback and early-access requests.
  • To understand which guides are useful, in aggregate, and to keep the site fast and secure.

We do not sell your personal information, and we never use the data you enter in the app to target advertising.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We also use local storage, which works similarly. Here is everything we use:

  • Strictly necessary. Firebase Authentication stores a sign-in token so you stay logged in, and the app keeps a copy of your workspace in local storage so it loads quickly and works offline. Without these the app cannot function. They are not used for advertising.
  • Preferences. Small settings such as your light or dark theme, which sidebar sections you keep open, and whether you dismissed the setup checklist. These stay in your browser.
  • Security and delivery. Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider, may set cookies to protect the site from abuse and to deliver pages efficiently.
  • Advertising. We do not currently show ads. If we introduce advertising on our guides in future, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads. We will ask for consent first where the law requires it, and this policy and the cookie banner will be updated before any ad cookie is set.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the app from keeping you signed in. Signing out clears the cached copy of your workspace from that browser.

5. Advertising (planned)

Our guides may carry advertising in future so they can stay free. If and when that happens:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
  • Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a certified consent management platform before any personalised advertising cookie is used.
  • Ads would appear only on our public guides — never inside the signed-in app, and never informed by the financial data you enter.

6. Where data is stored

Accounts and workspace data are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Security rules ensure only your signed-in account can read or change your workspace. The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under the providers' standard safeguards.

7. Service providers

  • Google Firebase — authentication, database and transactional email.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, security and email routing for [email protected].
  • Google AdSense — only if advertising launches, and only on the guides.
  • A payment provider — when paid plans launch. We will not store your full card details.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Access and export: download a full backup of your workspace from Settings at any time.
  • Correction: edit your profile and data directly in the app.
  • Deletion: delete your account and cloud workspace from Account → Delete account, or email us.
  • Objection and restriction: if you are in the EEA or UK, you may object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.

We answer privacy requests within 30 days.

9. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your workspace and profile are deleted from our database; provider backups are removed on their normal schedules. Support emails are kept for up to two years.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers, and database rules restrict every record to its owner. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

11. Children

The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. If changes are significant — including before any advertising begins — we will let you know in the app or by email and update the date at the top of this page.
